Prof. Susheng Gan

Full Professor with tenure in the School of Integrative Plant Science,

College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Cornell University

Dr. Susheng Gan received his PhD degree in Biochemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is now a Full Professor with tenure in the School of Integrative Plant Science, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Cornell University. His research focuses on (1) molecular regulatory mechanisms underlying senescence in plants and (2) dimensional control of gene expression. Dr. Gan is a worldwide highly recognized leader and is very well known for his basic and translational research on plant senescence(http://www.uni-kiel.de/krupinska/croplife/board.html). He has published more than 70 papers in such journals as Science, Nature Biotechnology, PANS, Nature Plant, Plant Cell, etc., with a total citations of >8,260 and h-index of 34. He has received 7 issued patents in US alone that are approaching commercialization. He is the editor of the annual plant reviews ”Senescence Processes in Plants” and the guest editor of the Special Issue on the plant senescence of Plant Molecular Biology. He has served on the editorial boards of 6 journals. He has also served as chairs/ co-chairs for several international conferences/ symposia such as Gordon Research Conferences on Plant Senescence.
